First off my name is Angel and I'm a 36 yr old mama to my sweet 6.5 year old triplets. I carried them almost 36wks and they are wonderful. I was only 4 months old when I got my pacemaker.

What were the first signs you had a problem? I was losing weight, couldn't eat for long, breathing so loud and hard because I couldn't get a breath.

How was your health previously? Not good.
What were your risk factors? None it was a congenital defect. I had a PDA/VSD and went into complete heart blockage when a patch was placed causing a pacemaker to be needed. I have to call once a month to check the pacemaker and have had it replaced so many times I can't count. I have never let it stop me I ride all the rides at amusement parks(bad I KNOW), drive, carried my kids almost full term. I am adventurous. I like the outdoors and sports. I am pretty much healthy other than the pacemaker. It does cause me to get tired a little easier and I have some fatigue but other than that I don't have any issues with it.

What advice can you give to others? If you can help it don't let it get you down. If you have to get a pacemaker it doesn't have to be a traumatic thing. I know sometimes you may have to make changes depending on your issues but be thankful God will work it out.
